Having the right soundtrack for your trek across campus is important. Sometimes on those gray and cloudy Washington mornings you need that one song to get you motivated for the day ahead.
Students were greeted by blue skies and sunshine at Lake Whatcom on Saturday, May 21 as they flocked to Western’s boat house for an Outdoor Wellness Extravaganza.
Students, staff and friends of the Western Washington University Anthropology Department have been documenting their bike rides throughout May as part of the Bike Everywhere Challenge, a national event that occurs annually. Teams are placed in randomly selected pools of 10, within which winners are calculated based on the number of points collected by riders.
For most students at Western Washington University, the inside of the environmental sciences building isn’t the first place that comes to mind as the ideal hammock spot. One student, however, enjoyed a seemingly relaxing swing four stories above the main floor, just one of his many recent escapades across campus.
What dogs, you ask? Yes. I’m talking about feet. Oh, I’ve heard it all before. “You gonna charge for that?” “Put those dogs back where they belong!” And still, despite the backlash, I’d choose to roam barefoot over wearing a pair of sad old Converse any day.
Western Washington University’s climbing team gave it their all this year as they made their way back into the scene of the Northwest Collegiate Climbing Circuit after a year away from competing due to the pandemic.
The Queer Resource Center at Western Washington University put on its 30th annual drag show in accordance with Sean Humphrey House and Lifelong, local charities dedicated to providing care and services to families living with HIV and other chronic illnesses. A portion of the ticket sales went to both organizations.
With spring just around the corner, getting outside is important. Taking a break from school or work to spend even a few minutes outside benefits physical and mental health.
