She was just 14 years old when Jason Jablonski discovered the Wenatchee native at the local swim club team. Jablonski knew her parents and took on the role of trainer when they asked him to train their daughter. At age 17, she decided to pursue her sport with Jablonski as her endurance coach. He would prepare her to take on the world.

Western’s cross-country team dominated the competition at the Saint Martin’s University Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26. The invitational took place at the SMU campus in Lacey, Washington on a course measuring 8 kilometers for the men and 5-kilometer-long run for the women.
Last year, the Vikings started the 2014-15 season with a 13-10 record while looking from the outside into a potential playoff run. They then rallied together to win eight games in the row to end the regular season and won the first two games of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference to reach the conference championship. During that streak it won its games by an average of 19 points per game, head coach Tony Dominguez said.
The Associated Students Outdoor Center will now be providing Weekend WOOT!, Western Outdoor Orientation Trips, for freshmen during the 2015 winter quarter.
