WWU to host House Hunting Lab Feb. 27

Finding off-campus housing can be overwhelming for students, but one event aims to make the process easier. On Feb. 27, students could join Off Campus Living at the House Hunting Lab in Haggard Hall, room 112, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will provide hands-on guidance, allowing students to search for housing with immediate support from experts.

On Friday, Western Academic Workers Union (WAWU), sponsored by the United Auto Workers (UAW), organized a rally in Red Square called Protect the Pie. Drawing a large crowd, the rally featured a handful of speakers, including WAWU board members, student workers and other Western employees.

Washington State Supreme Court to visit WWU

On Wednesday, Feb. 19, the nine Washington State Supreme Court justices will visit Western Washington University to hold a Q&A session from 9-11 a.m. in the Wilson Library Reading Room. On Thursday, Feb. 20, the court will hear two cases from 9-11 a.m. in the Wilson Library Reading Room. Both events will be open to the public.

WWU administration admits to overcharging student fees

Western Washington University increased the student transportation fee more than three times the amount allowed without student approval, university Chief Financial and Business Officer Joyce Lopes acknowledged last month. As a result, students taking more than six credits were overcharged for fall and winter quarters.
