Family and friends gathered on blankets and lawn chairs as the Seattle Seahawks’ 12 Tour arrived in Bellingham Saturday, June 24, to kick off opening night at the Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema.
Center Joey Hunt, running back C.J. Prosise, the Sea Gals, the Blue Thunder Drumline, team mascot BOOM and DJ Supa Sam rallied with the fans for pre-movie entertainment before the showing of 1984’s “Ghostbusters.”
Shaun “DJ Supa Sam” Samuels, the Seahawks’ official DJ, provided the jams as contenders participated in musical chairs and a game of “Name that Scratch,” where contestants went head-to-head to guess the name of the song playing. All of the participants received Seahawks gear.
The Blue Thunder Drumline and Sea Gals, including Western alumna Karley Kearney, performed before Hunt and Prosise appeared on stage for a short Q&A with the fans.
For some of the fans, coming to the outdoor cinema was a family tradition. But for Pam Fales, owner of Little Roadside Tavern, it was her first time making it out.
“Bellingham is a really great crowd. I knew we had a lot of 12s up this way, so for us to come this way is really exciting for us, and it didn’t disappoint at all.”

“I found out about it on Facebook,” Fales said. “It let me know because I’m a true blue Seahawks fan and I get notifications for all this stuff.”
The crowd cheered and waved their 12th Man Flags as Hunt and Prosise closed the rally with the ceremonial raising of the 12 flag on stage.
Samuels said being on tour was rock-star status.
“Bellingham is a really great crowd. I knew we had a lot of 12s up this way, so for us to come this way is really exciting for us, and it didn’t disappoint at all,” Samuels said.
Samuels said the most memorable part while touring Washington was his interaction with the fans.
“I just think some of the 12s coming up and telling me memories from when they’ve come to the games or training camp, and I’m like, ‘How do you remember all that stuff?’” Samuels said. “For them, it’s just a moment in time and they keep that forever.”
Though Bellingham was listed as the last destination for the north tour, Samuels said the tour isn’t over yet. They still have plans to travel south and see more fans around Washington.
