“The 1975” played the WaMu Theater in Seattle on Thursday, April 25. This is their first tour after the release of their most recent album “A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships,” which came out November 30, 2018. The Seattle show was one of the first stops on this tour and was executed flawlessly.
Lead singer, Matty Healy, started off the show with the song “Give Yourself a Try,” this was the first single released off of “ABIIOR” that came out in early 2018. The 1975 kicked off the first part of the concert with most of their new songs, including “Its Not Living,” “Sincerity is Scary” and “TOOTIME.” Of course, they also played quite a few of their older songs and cult classics such as “Robbers,” “Falling For You,” “She Way Out” and “Loving Someone.”
The openers were “No Rome” and “Pale Waves.” “No Rome” is a London-based Filipino alternative musician. “Pale Waves” is an English indie pop band based in Manchester. Both acts did a great job of warming up the audience with sounds that complimented the vibe. However, it was evident how anxious the crowd was for the king of indie pop, Matty Healy to make his appearance.

Matty Healy has been talking recently about his experience in rehab and becoming clean from heroine addiction. This being my third “The 1975” show it was great to see him and the rest of the band healthy and thriving. “The 1975” never disappoints, they captivate fans with relatable catchy music and commanding visuals. As they like to say “all these kids are living out their lives soundtracked to The 1975.” They have another new album coming out in May called “Notes On A Conditional Form.” Keep updated with them The 1975 Twitter.
