The remains of two missing snowboarders have now been found in the Mt. Baker recreation area and identified by the Whatcom County Medical Examiner, according to a press release from the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office.The two Bellingham snowboarders had been missing since Nov. 12, 2017.The remains of Jacob Amancio were located on Oct. 1 below Kulshan Ridge to the South of Huntoon Point according the release. Remains of Drew Lenz were located on Oct. 10 to the Northeast of Huntoon Point off Ann Lake Trail, the release said.Search efforts were ramped up after the Sheriff’s office received information that an item belonging to Jacob Amancio was found by off trail hikers on Sept. 29, according to the release.According to the release, rescue personnel from the Sheriff’s office, Summit to Sound, Mountain Rescue and Border Patrol teams all assisted in locating the remains.
