“Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” is the first new expansion in the Legend of Zelda series since 2015, and the first worthy game in the series in who knows how long. Breath of the Wild starts with you awakening from a long slumber as our hero Link, only to discover the evil Calamity Ganon terrorizing the sprawling kingdom of Hyrule once again. You must regain your strength, and bring down Gannon to restore peace to Hyrule.
While the story is generally the same, the gameplay and how you navigate the story line could not be more different than previous Zelda games.
“Breath of the Wild” introduces us to an enormous, open-world Hyrule that we have never seen before. The map is so large that it allows for hours-upon-hours of gameplay, and not a moment of it is spent with a dull view. This game is absolutely GORGEOUS. “Breath of the Wild” is a colorful, visually stunning masterpiece. Adventuring around is rewarding in itself, because it brings you to a new mountain top, dense forest, or large grassy plain that you haven't seen before.
This game offers more exploration than any other open-world game I have ever played.

“Breath of the Wild” sustains the excitement of discovery throughout the game, in comparison to many open-world adventure games that give you all they have in the first hour or so of gameplay. With the amount of mobility you have with your ability to scale mountains and paraglide, this games offers more exploration than any other open-world game I have ever played. The gameplay is so satisfying with the different interactions and side quests you can enjoy. It demonstrates the epitome of an open-world game.
While the new gameplay is amazing, old Zelda fans can rejoice in the over 100 shrines, each with its own unique puzzle, as well as four main dungeons with satisfying boss battles that will resonate with the older games in the series.
Nintendo nailed the balance of the freedom for the player without sacrificing how the game is chronologically laid out.

The amount of things you can learn and discover in “Breath of the Wild” is almost unlimited, creating such a rich, captivating environment and gaming experience. Every new place you visit is unique in its own way, and it is just so damn satisfying to progress through.
This game lands among “Majora's Mask” and “Ocarina of Time” as one of the greatest Zelda games of all time. If this game doesn't win game of the year, I will be fully surprised. I rate “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” a full five stars out of five.
