Woman murdered in Fairhaven, police arrest suspect

Alex Halverson Updated at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, March 5: A 29-year-old man was arrested today in connection with the murder of his mother in Fairhaven, according to the Bellingham Police Department. Police said the stabbing was not a random incident, but there is no threat to the public, Lt. Danielle Beckley said in an email.

Victim in homicide case is Aurora Smith, 57 year old female. Sheaen Smith, 29, arrested for murder 2. Full release tomorrow.

At about 2:40pm today a female victim was pronounced deceased from apparent stab wounds. 20 year old male suspect taken into custody
