83rd minute: Homer leaps to grab a Laker free kick in traffic. If the score holds, the Vikings are seven minutes away from a National Championship.

---GOAL VIKINGS---

76th minute: 3-2. GOLAZOOO from junior midfielder Emily Webster! An unbelievable free kick from Webster finds the top right corner, grazing the junction of the post and cross bar.  Western takes the lead!

---GOAL LAKERS---

72nd minute: 2-2. Grand Valley State equalizes once more. A beautiful first-time chip shot from the edge of the 18-yard line drifts over the outstretched hands of Homer. What a game.

64th minute: A near-goal for Western.

Update: 2:21 p.m. PST

56th minute: Close call for the Vikings, as Grand Valley State lands a corner just outside the six-yard line but Homer drops to the ground to deny the shot. Vikings still  lead 2-1.

Update: 2:20 p.m. PST

55th minute: Grand Valley State looks much more composed to start this second half, getting the ball into the box and forcing the Western defense into some uncomfortable situations.

49th minute: Western goalkeeper Ashley Homer has not been tested too many times in this tournament but she is cleanly fielding GVSU shots and looks confident.

46th minute: The second half is under way and the Lakers are on the attack.

Halftime

Catch your breath. Western leads 2-1 at halftime of the Division II women's soccer National Championship. Western dominated possession early in the match, applying pressure at every opportunity. Senior forward/midfielder Caitlyn Jobanek capitalized, putting the Vikings on the board in the 18th minute with a powerful shot from 23-yards away. Grand Valley State equalized on a breakaway in the 33rd minute, but Jobanek found the back of the net again just four minutes later with a fantastic curling strike from the corner of the 18-yard line, recapturing the lead.

37th minute: 2-1. Caitlyn Jobanek strikes again. The senior forward/midfielder runs parallel across the 18-yard line and curls a shot into the far post. The Laker goalkeeper had no chance at that one. Another classy goal from Jobanek who fired the shot with a defender on her hip.

---GOAL LAKERS---

33rd minute: 1-1. Grand Valley State finds the equalizer as a Laker forward gets a touch past Western goalkeeper Ashley Homer and slips the ball into the corner of an open net. It is the first shot the Vikings have allowed this weekend. 

---GOAL VIKINGS---

18th minute: Caitlyn Jobanek fires a screamer from outside the box that dips under the crossbar, lifting the Vikings to an early 1-0 lead. What a goal from the senior.

Western Washington University (23-0-1) takes on Grand Valley State University (23-1-1) for the women's soccer Division II National Championship. Western looks to take home its first ever National title to cap an undefeated season while Grand Valley State aims for its 4th straight title and sixth overall, becoming the most decorated Division II women's soccer team ever.
