After two years straight of getting to watch the Seahawks play in the Super Bowl, Sunday just wasn’t quite the same. My parents and I started a tradition about two years ago of eating kale chips every Sunday while we watch football, which we continued this weekend when I was back at home.

Kale chips are way healthier than regular potato chips and if properly seasoned, they are just as delicious. I never buy them pre-packaged in the store because they are usually expensive and don’t even taste very good.
I already had seasonings and olive oil, so I only spent $2.29 at Trader Joe’s on a huge bag of kale for this snack. Here’s what you’ll need:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400.Step 2: Rinse the kale and dry it with a paper towel.

Step 3: In a mixing bowl combine the kale, oil and seasonings. Mix it well so that everything is distributed evenly and let it set while the oven preheats.Step 4: Cook for about 15 minutes. Depending on how much kale you use, you may want to cook it longer.

If you’ve never cooked with kale before, it is similar to spinach; it cooks down really quickly, you could use half of a bag and it probably wouldn’t be too much. This makes a healthy and quick snack for game day or after class. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
